Oliver Dennison

Executive summary

Oliver brings over 20 years of experience as a senior manager and technology consultant, working for financial organizations and multinational corporations in Europe and North America. He has an industry leading focus on Risk Management, Fraud, Regulatory Compliance, Post-merger integration, Data Lineage and Corporate Lending Operations and Technology.

He is an experienced practitioner of control and process design and re-engineering, with a focus within Finance, Risk and Compliance on the associated data management, lineage and controls aspects of these types of change programs. He has a proven track-record in the establishment of efficient delivery focused program teams, and the supporting PMO structures under which they operate.

Within Grant Thornton Oliver leads the Analytics and Validation Solutions and the Credit Risk Advisory practices. Leveraging SR11-07 and SR20-13 respectively, the US and India based teams ensure the development of sustainable and comprehensive customer solutions aligned to these key elements of regulatory guidance.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton Oliver has held a number of senior positions within US based European banks. Most recently he was Director of enterprise wide Risk Technology, with the responsibility for regulatory compliance across all Risk functions [Credit / Market / Non-Financial / Enterprise / Regulatory]. This role covered areas such as IRRBB, CCAR, USB3, SCCL, SNC, CECL, LLL, BCBS239 and MOU / MRIA / MRA remediation.

Prior to that he was the CAO and Branch Manager for a large European FBO, leading the post-acquisition integration program across the Americas covering all aspects of the merger.

Within Grant Thornton he is the National Executive Sponsor of the Diverse Abilities business resource group and is an active board member of two youth charities focused on the support of diverse abilities and specifically mental health awareness through sport.

 

Professional qualifications and memberships

• Oliver is an active participant on a number of Financial Services Industry forums including the RMA and PMI. He is SAFe Agile Accredited [Agilist / Scrum Master / Product Owner / Product Manager] and is a SAP Certificated Professional.
   

Community involvement

• Oliver is a founding member of PlayRugbyUSA; a NYC charity that uses the power of Rugby to empower ad inspire youth, primarily from underserved communities to Go Forward and realize their true potential.
   

Education

• Oliver holds a BEng Hons Civil and Structural Engineering from Imperial College, London.
