Experience
Tracey has more than fifteen years of experience in tax planning services for public and privately held clients, with a focus on energy clients (upstream, midstream, downstream, renewables, and chemical refining). She provides services related to energy tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), tangible property regulations (repairs), fixed assets / cost segregation, inventory (UNICAP), the research and development (R&D) tax credit / Section 174, and tax accounting methods (e.g., Section 163j planning).
Tracey’s project experiences include: cost segregation analysis for property reclassification; providing consulting related to the energy credits under the IRA (qualification, quantification, and planning under the guidance); conducting repair and maintenance analysis to determine proper classification of costs incurred in acquiring, maintaining and improving tangible property; implementation of the final UNICAP regulations; reviewing and helping clients adopt correct and advantageous accounting methods; and assisting clients with the calculation, documentation and substantiation of R&D tax credits and Section 174.
Tracey’s experience prior joining Grant Thornton’s practice includes three years of mergers & acquisitions tax consulting (buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, as well as tax structure modelling).
